Karmere (Car-MARE) is a family-owned and operated winery producing some of Amador’s boldest red wines. Evoking a French chateau, the tasting room overlooks the winery – which resembles an old church, complete with bell towers – and carefully groomed, Shenandoah Valley estate vineyards, which are planted to barbera, syrah, zinfandel and nebbiolo. Visitors to the tasting room can enjoy Karmere’s gardens and picnic area, which afford wonderful views of the surrounding valley.

Working with some of the finest growers in California, winemaker Jeff Runquist produces award- winning red wines renowned for their succulent fruit and silky tannins. Twenty-nine years after first making Amador County zinfandel, Jeff has returned to Amador to realize his dream of opening a small winery in the Shenandoah Valley.

Nestled on a hilltop with the prettiest view in Amador’s Shenandoah Valley, the new Iron Hub Winery produces limited-production, estate bottled wines. Winemaker Tom Jones employs a handcrafted vineyard-to-bottle winemaking approach, resulting in balanced and complex wines that showcase the distinctive characteristics of the estate. Visit our traditional winery where you can taste both white and red wines, stroll the vineyard, and picnic with the perfect view. Previously handcrafted Amador Foothill wines also available.

Helwig Winery offers sweeping vistas overlooking lush vineyards, breathtaking views of the Sierra and Coastal mountains, and a sky you won’t believe until you see it for yourself.

Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will greet you when you visit our spacious and inviting Tasting Room. We are also known for our well-equipped meeting and conference rooms, our terraced concert amphitheater, and the popular picnic Pavilion. We offer a little something for everyone, no matter the weather, the event or the mood.

We specialize not only in producing award winning wines, but also in hosting wedding and corporate events, large or small parties, and wine cave tours.
